Running for Domestic Violence Awareness
Story
Hi everyone!
On August 11th, Matilda and I are participating in the Sunshine Coast Half Marathon. In the lead up, our goal is to each raise $1000 for DVConnect.
DVConnect is a service that provides pathways for those experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence. They provide Australia-wide helplines, helping people to live lives free from violence and facilitating access to safety. They also have a helpline available for those who have experienced sexual assault.
This 21km is a both a huge physical and mental challenge and we hope by participating we can attract attention to the issue and raise money for this charity.
We want DVConnect to be able to help Australians now and in the future, but we can’t do this alone. If you can, please donate to this page. Your donation makes a difference no matter how big or small!

DVConnect Limited
DVConnect exists to help Queenslanders experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence. Our vision is a future where all lives are free from violence and fear.
We provide victim-survivors, including children and pets, with pathways to emergency transport, accommodation, safety planning, crisis counselling, and more.
Our dedicated counsellors offer support via our Womensline, Mensline, Sexual Assault Helpline and Forensic Support Line.
We also operate Bella's Sanctuary, a safe place for women and children to heal and rebuild after violence. This independent medium-term accommodation houses five families and is made possible by community donations.
