Running for Domestic Violence Awareness
Story
Hi everyone!
On August 11th, Matilda and I are participating in the Sunshine Coast Half Marathon. In the lead up, our goal is to each raise $1000 for DVConnect.
DVConnect is a service that provides pathways for those experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence. They provide Australia-wide helplines, helping people to live lives free from violence and facilitating access to safety. They also have a helpline available for those who have experienced sexual assault.
This 21km is a both a huge physical and mental challenge and we hope by participating we can attract attention to the issue and raise money for this charity.
We want DVConnect to be able to help Australians now and in the future, but we can’t do this alone. If you can, please donate to this page. Your donation makes a difference no matter how big or small!

DVConnect Limited
We help Queenslanders find pathways to safety, away from domestic, family and sexual violence. We provide emergency transport and accommodation for your entire family including pets. We also provide safety planning, crisis counselling, intervention, information and referrals at no cost to you. We operate bridging accommodation residence Bella's Sanctuary, a safe haven for victim survivors to heal and rebuild their lives. We also educate through our Workplace Domestic and Family Violence Training program.
